Commune with the
Gods & Goddesses of Athens

Your journey will begin in the ancient city of Athens, the historical capital of Europe. Following the steps of some of the most well-known philosophers, such as Plato and Socrates, it's easy to imagine them standing in the streets of Angora with students gathered around, hanging on their every word.

Our time spent in Athens will be rich in both present-day Greek culture and ancient history. We'll visit the Acropolis - Athen's Sacred Rock and its iconic pinnacle, the Parthenon.

And also have time to stroll the streets of Athens, stopping at markets and shops along the way.

Delphi.png

Connect with the
Oracles of Delphi

Delphi, the religious center and symbol of unity for the ancient Greeks is nestled amongst mountains, beautifully blending into the magnificent, natural landscape.

Delphi is considered the navel of the earth and where Pythia, the Oracle spoke. As we walk the stone paths, worn from those who have come before us, we'll ask ourselves, "What oracular message wants to weave its way from the ancient dream time into our consciousness?"

Our hotel is just a short distance from the ancient site where you'll have time to wander on your own, along with experiencing the charming village of Delphi.

Demeter's Temple & the Eleusinian Mysteries

Imagine living in Athens long ago and participating in the Eleusinian mysteries. You would prepare at least six months before the ceremony.

And when the time comes, along with thousands of others, you make your way down the Sacred Way from Agora to Eleusius where a nine day initiation awaits.

This initiation was highly guarded, and anyone who shared anything about what took place would be immediately sentenced to death.

Today, all we have is speculation and our own imagination of what took place during this initiation that was a reflection of the Demeter and Persephone story.

Ancient Crete

beautiful-seascape-in-crete-greece-2025-01-15-14-56-22-utc.jpeg

Crete is the largest of the Greek Isles where we find the ancient remains of the Minoan civilization, and the highly revered snake goddess.

The Minoan were a highly advanced spiritual people that built temples and "villages" on Crete.

From what their past has revealed, the Minoan culture was a vibrant one - enjoying festivals and celebrations, using bright colors on their temple walls and making beautiful and intricately detailed pottery.

Today, we have glimpses of their unique past, best displayed at the Temple of Knossos that was built in 7000bc, and at the Temple of Phaistos.

The Snake Goddess of Crete is believed to be an earlier version of the goddess Hekate. Both are associated with the serpent and were referred to as the Drakaina - female dragon in the Greek traditions.

Knossos & the Minoan Culture

Stroll through the Palace of Knossos - the palace of the Minotaur, Crete's most iconic archeological site.

Colorful frescoes and intricately carved columns  gives us a glimpse into the Minoan culture - considered Europe's first advanced civilization.

Many describe the Minoans as an enlightened "star race" whose DNA is woven into the local population and can be seen through the eyes of the Cretan people today.

The Minoan culture, while spiritually advanced, was a rich culture using bright colors, lots of music and dance, as we'll see when we visit Knossos, and further south, Phaistos.

Visit Lake Vouliagmeni

Lake Vouliagmeni was formed as a result of an earthquake over 2000 years ago creating a channel where saltwater rises up from the sea.

The lake is legendary for its rejuvenating properties, and whether you go for a swim or dangle your feet at the lake's edge, you'll experience the inner peace of its timeless beauty.

Cultural Delights, Workshops
& Farm Tours

Greece has so much to offer in the way of ancient sites, but what is also unique, are the time-honored, living traditions. While on Crete, we'll experience first hand their traditions as we participate in "workshops" that include soap-making, cooking, pottery-making

and visits to both olive groves and apiaries. (All included!)

Greek Pottery

Countless shards of pottery have been found on the island of Crete with colorful, painted images. While on Crete, we'll visit the tiny village of Margarite known for its pottery, and be able to get our hands on some clay!

Cooking Greek!

We'll visit a family that teaches how to make traditional Greek food. As we gather around a table, we'll work side by side with the family, making a delicious lunch for all to share.

Rethymno

Rethymno, a harbor-side village on the north side of Crete is a charming town displaying both Venetian and Ottoman architecture.  We'll spend time strolling through this lovely village after visiting the nearby Arkadi Monastery and the Melidoni Apithano Honey Museum.

The Cave of Melidoni

Near the charming village of Rethymno is the Melidoni Cave.  Once a sacred, ceremonial cave of the Minoan people, archeologists have also found evidence of the cave's use during pre-historic times.

There are many caves on the island of Crete - most used by the Minoan people for ceremonial purposes. Some referred to as birthing caves and other's connected to the birth of Zeus.

“For bees, the flower is the fountain of life. For flowers, the bee is the messenger of love.” - Kahlil Gibran

Your Initiaton
The Serpent & the Bee

Mystical and deeply intertwined with the sacredness of honey, the Melissae, or Bee Nymphs were the

priestesses of Demeter and her daughter, Persephone -

The Honeyed One.

They were believed to have taught the use of honey - both as medicine, valuable food and for spiritual purposes, such as the development of the oracular mind.

The bees themselves, then and today, are seen as Divine Beings helping to fertilize our planet as they collect the nectar of flowers and create golden honey.

They are in service to our beautiful earth, weaving the Divine throughout the natural world.

Your initiation invites you to become the oracle - a portal to the Divine wisdom of the serpent, rising from

the earth up through your body and passing through

the hive of your heart.

Through "hive dreaming", we'll explore both personal and collective dreaming for healing.

“It was only those souls who had lived a righteous life who were called Melissae, and afterwards they returned to heaven, just as the bee returned to her hive.”

It was believed the Oracle channeled messages directly from the God Apollo.
